About Us

In our home currently live three bitches: a Labrador and two Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs. Our first dog was Moris – a dachshund. His inborn characteristics and our inexperience resulted in his self-upbringing. That is why he was totally independent. All his failures were forgiven, because he was our “home doctor”. With his senses, he could easily find out every wound, even the ones that were hidden. He was very patient while licking all the possible wounds and bruises. At night, he used to sleep next to one of the family members. Despite his own “medical skills”, he got very ill. During the last two years of life, he went through some operations, even though he lost his eyesight and became blind. We were aware that his life would soon end. In his last year of life, he got some company – Parwati (the Labrador). Moris taught her how to hunt and dig. He also passed on to her his wisdom and independence (unluckily he did not pass on the “medical skills”). Parwati was very grateful for the lessons and to pay him back she became his guide dog! It was really indispensable when the rain washed away all the smells and odors, which were like signs for our Moris. In this kind of weather, Parwati would always lead Moris home from the garden. Our garden looks like a battle camp now, because of our Labradors hunting skills which she picked up from Moris. It has been like this until today and the garden is still the playground of our three dogs. Moris died on the 17th of March 2004, he lived with us for 9 years.

Parwati was not alone for a long time, because on the 10th of October 2004 a baby Greater Swiss Mountain Dog – Rota became another member of our dog-loving family. Three months later on the 15th of January we were joined by the second Swissy – Winter. In spite of the stereotype and the opinions of some other breeders, our three bitches live together in harmony and are very friendly to each other. There has never been a serious fight between them.

On the contrary, our dogs have great fun together and they help each other in keeping clean. Sometimes they are jealous of one another. The daily observation their relationships is a real pleasure for us. Our dogs are members of our family just like each of us. Someone said once that it would be possible to live without a dog, but what for? We are of the same opinion.
